Working With Individuals

If real change was easy then you could do it on your own.

The first step is to seek help from someone who has actually experienced it.

working with individualsAs a mentor, I am a man you come and talk to when you are stuck, confused, or overwhelmed. Together we create a trusting relationship which allows us to challenge your way of seeing things and your way of doing things, with the intention of making space for something new. Gradually, you develop new beliefs and new attitudes which in turn change your behaviour and approach to things. You come to experience life differently and to get different results. This is real change which, once learned, cannot be un-learned. The change is sustainable because it is based on your own realisations and experience rather than someone else’s ideas of what is best for you.

I do not exercise any sort of artificial professional distance; I enter into a fully human encounter where I am as much the real me as I am the consultant. I believe the authenticity of the personal exchange is key to making the work successful, even though it may conflict with traditional therapeutic conventions.

It must also be said that my way of working is not for everyone. Occasionally the chemistry is simply not right; sometimes people come to see me who would be better suited to a traditional clinical environment. But many of my clients consider their time with me to the best investment they ever made. As one client said to me: “coming here was like last chance saloon for me”.

Spaces for new clients come and go but I am open to hearing from people who have a genuine desire to work on changing their experience of life even if they have no clue how to make it happen.
